Chemical Name: Amygdalin
Recommended Daily Allowance: Unknown, highly controversial
substance. Legalized in many states and
outlawed and others. Manufactured and
used legally in 17 countries throughout the world.
Physiological Effects: When eaten and absorbed by normal
cells, an enzyme called rhodanse is released which has antagonistic affects one
cancer cells.
Deficiency Disorders: A lack of this nutrient is thought
by many scientists to cause cancer. More
research is needed on the effectiveness of this vitamin.
Natural Sources: Apricot pits, kernels of apples,
cherries, peaches, plums and nectarines.
Synergistic Substances: Vitamin A, B complex vitamins, Pangamic
acid, Vitamins C and E.
