Chemical Name; Para-Aminobenzoic Acid

Recommended Daily Allowance: None Established.

Physiological Effects: Prevents graying of the hair.  Protects the skin against sunburn, aging, and skin cancer due to excessive exposure to sunlight.  Aids bacteria in producing folic acid.  Coenzyme in protein metabolism.  Aids in the formation of red blood cells.  Helps assimilation of panthothenic acid.

Deficiency Disorders: Gastro-intestinal disorders, fatigue, irritability, depression, headaches, graying hair, Lupus Erythematosus, scleroderma.

Natural Sources: Yeast, liver, wheat germ, molasses, whole grains, bran.

Synergistic Substances: B complex, folic acid, Vitamin C.

Antagonistic Substances: Sulfa drugs, alcohol, coffee, cola drinks, food processing, estrogen.
