Recommended Daily Allowance: Not Established.  The National Research Council suggests any intake to .05-.2 mg per day.

Physiological Effects: Aids in fat metabolism.  Vital for hair growth factor.  Effective in promoting body's production of lecithin.  Previous hardening of the arteries.  Protects the liver, kidneys and heart to.  Utilized in growth of cells in bone morrow, eye membranes, and intestines. Prevents thinning of they hair and baldness.

Deficiency Disorders: Constipation, eczema, baldness, the dermatitis, poor appetite, elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels of the blood, cardiovascular disease.

Natural Sources: Unprocessed whole grains, yeast, corn, soybeans, unrefined molasses, liver, citrus fruits, Brewers yeast, meat, milk, nuts.

Synergistic Substances: B complex, choline, linoleic acid.

Antagonistic Substances: Caffeine, cola drinks, coffee, tea, alcohol.
