Recommended Daily Allowance; .05 to .2 mg.

Physiological Effects: Inhibits cholesterol formation in the liver.  It involved in the effectiveness of insulin.  Stimulates synthesis of fatty acids.  Reduces buildup of atherosclerosis.  Present in nucleic acids.

Deficiency Disorders: Atherosclerosis, glucose intolerance and diabetes, depressed growth rate, heart disease.

Natural Sources: Unrefined flour and sugar, multi-vitamins and mineral supplements, corn oil, clams, whole-grain cereals, Brewer's yeast, meat, chicken, wheat germ, rye, and green pepper.

Synergistic Substances

Antagonistic Substances: Refinement of flour and sugar causes the loss of chromium from the natural product, low protein diet, and high-refined carbohydrate diet.  Iron.
